Dishwasher Detergent

By , About.com Guide   May 9, 2007

Follow me on:

It's one of our most magical machines. We put in plates, cups, forks, and knives that are disgusting, and one cycle later out comes a batch of clean shiny dishes. At least, that's what we hope for. A lot of how your dishes turn out depends on what dishwasher detergent you put in. Here are 8 of the best dishwasher detergents you can buy.

I am doing a science fair project and no website has any information on dish detergent. All it has is stuff as to where you can get the best deals. I believe someone should put something in about what dish detergent is made of, or how people got the idea.

Since there are so many comments looking for ingredients and such, one place to look for that information is at the prodcuts’ websites (e.g. Cascade).

Just searching for “Dish washing ingredients” came up with:

http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/household/brands?tbl=brands&id=16003248

It’s a little complicated for high school, but scroll to the bottom and it lists the ingredients one by one, and explains what they are.

This site makes me think that any web site with “about” in it’s address is a waste of time.
