How To Clean a Blender
Monday May 19, 2008
On a recent day around my house, I was in the mood for a smoothie. I had some yogurt, granola, and blueberries I wanted to mix together to make a delicious breakfast. So I got out my blender. It didn't take me long to realize that it was missing the small gasket ring that goes on the bottom and keeps all the blended stuff from falling out. Somehow, during a previous cleaning, it had been misplaced and was nowhere to be found. I decided it was a sign to upgrade my blender. If you've got some blending going on and want to make sure you keep your blender clean, here are some tips to help.

I never thought about the mild damage a dishwasher could do to a plastic blender. I have noticed that mine looks “older” now that I am using a dishwasher instead of hand washing.
Good tip on the baking soda/water to get smells out. Does that work for any plastic container?
