Make Hardwood Floors Shine

A reader recently wrote asking for help to make her hardwood floors shine.  There are quite a few factors that could be keeping your hardwood floors from looking bright and shiny.  It's important to know what type of finish you have and how damaged that finish is.  A lot of people believe that using more cleaner will make a shinier floor, but excess cleaner dulls floors and can even damage them.  In most cases vacuuming or sweeping thoroughly with a dry dust mop will prevent residue on your floors.  To truly make hardwood floors shine, you may need to actually buff the floors dry.
