First Three Books To Buy
These are just a few of the Housekeeping and Organization books that I could not do without. They are packed with information as well as written in a great style with lots of humor. These are the first three books I would recommend to anyone wanting to have a personal library of helpful home books.
Forever, Erma by Erma Bombeck
Erma Bombeck has continued to make people laugh with her words long after her death in 1996.This book has a collection of some of her best columns and a tribute to the beloved author. Warning read the tribute section with a box of Kleenex.
The Queen of Clean: The Royal Guide to Spot and Stain Removal by Linda Cobb
Linda has several other books that I am really excited to read, but this one is an easy pocket sized reference book for stains. With four kids under the age of 6, I am constantly in need of its advice. Linda covers so much in this book, including care and cleaning of the machines that clean our clothes.
Confessions of an Organized Homemaker: The Secrets of Uncluttering Your Home and Taking Control of Your Life by Deniece Shoefield
My husband bought this book for me after we had been married for two years. At first I was insulted, but then my curiosity got the better of me and I was hooked. The chapters are extremely well organized (as one would expect) into sections that gradually get you organized to stay. Not every idea fit my life, but her specific examples allowed me to create my own systems of organization.
