How To Clean Plastic Patio Furniture

By Sarah Aguirre, About.com

So plastic might not be the fanciest patio furniture around, but it's durable and available in many styles and colors. Cleaning and caring for plastic patio furniture keeps it looking nice and lasting longer. Even plastic deserves to be clean.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 15 minutes

Here's How:

  1. General cleaning

Wipe down your plastic patio chairs with a cleaning cloth, water, and a mild dish soap.

  2. Rinse thoroughly.

Use a water hose to wash down the plastic patio chairs and rinse away the soap.

  3. Touch up scrapes.

Plastic patio furniture is likely to get scuffed and scratched. Use a spray paint that is formulated to bond to plastic. Usually no sanding or priming is involved to touch up your plastic patio furniture.
