Stain Removal for Lemon Juice Stains

By Sarah Aguirre, About.com

Lemon juice, sugar, and water can make a great refreshing glass of lemonade, but that same lemon juice on your clothing acts as a bleaching agent, removing color from your clothes. Even though it may not seem like this nearly clear liquid could cause damage, it needs to be dealt with right away.

Stain Removal Step 1.

Treat this stain as quickly as possible to avoid discoloration of clothing. Rinse from the back of the stained area thoroughly with cold water.

Stain Removal Step 2.

Mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of water. Rub the baking soda paster gently into the stain.

Stain Removal Step 3.

Rinse the garment thoroughly, removing all traces of the lemon or the baking soda.

Stain Removal Step 4.

Repeat as needed.

Stain Removal Step 5. Wash with detergent according to clothing instructions.
