The Bottom Line

I mop a lot. But I've always been skeptical of steam mops and their ability to clean my floor. Of course they are a greener option, using only water to clean and disinfect...but how well could they really work? The Eureka Envirosteamer shows just how well a steam mop can work. This steam mop is amazing. It puts out a continuous amount of steam that powers through the toughest and stickiest messes your floor can come up with. Its edge cleaning is outstanding. It's maintenance is effortless. The Eureka Envirosteamer is on my list to purchase for my own home, because it's changed how I mop, forever.

Guide Review - Eureka EnviroSteamer

Occasionally I try out a new product and it changes how I clean, forever. The Eureka Envirosteamer is one of those products. I've always been a little skeptical of steam mops. If a mop and bucket were good enough for my great grandma, they're good enough for me. But I think even my great grandma would have been over the moon for the Eureka Envirosteamer. Using only water and an oversized magic cloth, the Envirosteamer puts out a continuous amount of steam that removes the worst messes from your floors with very little effort required.

On all surfaces, the Envirosteamer worked magic, removing dirt and stuck on debris from floors I thought were already clean. The low profile and swivel handle made getting under cabinets and into corners easy. The oversized magic cloth mopping pad tucked up into the top of the unit provided the best edge cleaning by a mop that I've ever seen. The continuous steam removed cereal that had been glued to the floor by milk, and left the floor underneath a toddlers booster seat, spotless. Even a ring on a tile floor from a potted plant was removed.

The Envirosteamer comes with a heat up/cool down foam tray to protect floor surfaces. The unit is easily filled with a measuring cup and funnel. An indicator light shows when the unit needs to be refilled.

Although the manufacturer's instructions say that the magic cloth should be rinsed out and line dried to prevent shrinking. I successfully washed my magic cloths in the washing machine on the gentle cycle before line drying them.

With all the products that I test, there are only a small handful that I put on a list to buy for my home. The Eureka Envirosteamer is one of those products.

I bought a new EnviroSteamer off Ebay, first time I tryed it it wouldn't steam and left the floor very wet. I called Customer Service and was told that they had several complaints about this but that it only happens the first time it is used and after that people raved about how good it worked, well I tryed it again and it did steam a little better and didn't leave the floor as wet so I decided to keep it. Now after using it several times I wish I had sent it back. It still doesn't steam much, doesn't seem to get very hot and doesn't seem to be doing anything as far as cleaning. I used to have a Shark and after cleaning the pad would be very dirty, with the EnviroSteamer there is vey little dirt on the pad. I would definetely not recommend this to anyone.
