Use Ketchup to Clean

Copper and Brass Pots and Pans

Tarnished areas on your copper and brass pots and pans can be unsightly and difficult to remove without damaging the surface. Use a clean damp cloth. Squeeze ketchup onto the cloth. Rub in a circular motion on the tarnished areas of your pots and pans. In a matter of minutes, their original color will shine through. Rinse with warm water and dry by hand.

Stainless Steel Sink

Want to shine up the tarnished areas on your stainless steel sink? Ketchup can help. Squirt ketchup into the sink, and use a clean damp cloth or a plastic scrub sponge to spread the ketchup around the stainless steel surface. Rinse with warm water and towel dry.

Tarnished Silver

This same method can be used to clean tarnished silver items as well. Fill a small bowl with ketchup and use it as a dip for your tarnished silver items. Dip the silver item in and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes. An old soft t-shirt can be used to rub the ketchup into the crevices for silver pieces with lots of details. Rinse the silver piece with warm water before hand drying.
