Had someone who almost made it to the bathroom but instead vomited on the carpet? Your in for a fun time. Actually this may be one of the worst things you've ever cleaned up, but with these tips you can get your carpet back to normal.
Difficulty: Hard
Time Required: 30 minutes to 1 hour
Here's How:
- Use a spoon to remove as much of the vomit stain as possible. I know it sounds horrible, but you want to get up as much of the vomit as possible without pressing it into the carpet. Use a spoon to get up any excess vomit. You might want to cover your mouth to avoid the smell.
- Pour club soda or cold water onto the vomit stain. Let it stand on the vomit stain for 30 seconds. Blot the vomit stain with a clean dry cloth, soaking up the stain. Replace the cloth as it becomes wet. Repeat until no more vomit is transferred onto the cloth.
- Treat the area with a carpet spot stain remover according to its directions.
Look for a carpet stain remover with enzymes. Many stain removers for pet carpet stains will make good choices.
