Here's How:
- Rinse thoroughly.
Using cold water, rinse the stained area from the back of the stain. This will force the stain out of the fabric the same way it came in. Cold water is especially important to keep the stain from setting in your fabric.
- Apply liquid detergent.
Rub liquid laundry detergent directly into the stained area. Be gentle so that the fibers of the clothing aren't damaged. Allow the detergent to sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Rinse.
Rinse the detergent gently, but thoroughly, from the fabric.
- Wash.
Wash the clothing according to the regular care instructions. Do not dry, until the stained area has been checked to make sure no stain remains. If the stain remains, proceed to step 5. If it is fully gone, dry normally.
- Soak.
If the alcohol stain still remains after washing, soak in cold water with a liquid laundry detergent for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
- Apply stain remover.
If the alcohol stain still remains after soaking, apply a stain remover stick, gel, or spray and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Wash and dry.
If the stain has been removed, wash and dry according to regular clothing care instructions. If the stain still remains, you can try steps 2-6 again.
Tips:
- Always try to rinse stained areas from the back of the stain. This forces the stain back out the same way it came in, and is more likely to fully remove the stain.
- A little laundry detergent goes a long way. Start with a few drops, because you can always add more until you have enough to saturate the stained area.
