DOORMAT

I know someone who takes my used plastic bags and weaves them into a doormat. It looks just like the grass mats you buy, but they are very colorful, durable and fully washable.

Plastics bags

I use the bags that newspaper comes in (protects the newspaper from getting wet) for my dog poop. They are handy and small enough to be handled like a glove to protect my hands. I also used them to pack spoiled food to be trashed.

Using plastic bags

I use plastic bags for two purposes: to store leftovers for soups, salads and gravy (place in freezer until ready to use). I also use them to store cookies in the pantry closet after I open packages.

Reusing Plastic Bags

Our family are BIG into Girl Scouts. When cookies are ready to be delivered, we use our plastic bags to separate everyone's orders. Boxes are placed into plastic bags. We write on the outside of the bag, with a permanent marker, the name of the person to whom those cookies need to be delivered.

Recycling Plastic Bags

Two cats own our family. Our girls are required to "scoop the poop" every night, before they go to bed. The scooped poop is placed into one of the plastic bags & taken out to the city provided garbage can.

Horse Stuff

I fold them very tightly and wedge them in between the the saddle tree and fleece (both english and western). I also use them around the barn to organize brushes, boots or polo wraps that need to be washed.

Litter Patrol

I keep several bags stuffed between the console and front passenger seat of my car. I pick up litter on the country roads bordering our property when I'm "out" running errands.

For packing

I recently moved, and I used tons of plastic bags to pack my kitchen items, glasses and dishes. I lined each dish with bags, then double bagged piles of dishes, twist close at the top, and taped it with packing tape to close so that dishes wouldn't slide around. Then I packed them in boxes with either some newspaper or bubble wrap. Saved me from buying expensive packing supplies!

Tidy Up

When I have to tidy up when the room is a mess, I use plastic bags to put everything that belongs in the other rooms of the house and outside. I put it all in plastic bags instead of running back and forward all the time. Its also good when you run out of time, because you can catch up tomorrow .

Crochet

Use them to crochet things, like chair pads and hats,

Plastic Grocery Bags

I use the bags for several things. Like Cindy, I use them to clean out the litter box. Like Selena, I use them to line all my little wastebaskets throughout the house. When I take things to Goodwill, I fill the bags and, when they have enough in them, I take them in. In the winter, when there is snow on the ground, I wear my snowboots to church and carry my church shoes in a bag so I can change. I also put the things my grandchildren leave in bags so that I can keep them together to return them. I keep one in an empty ice cream tub under my kitchen sink for throwing eggshells and other small scraps into while I am cooking. I can find lots of uses for them, but I still have way too many hanging around :(

Plastic bags from the store

I use them while I go camping to hold wet clothes so that they won't get other things wet. I also use them to store craft items like different kinds of yarn or even material just so that they don't get dusty or dirty. I use plastic bags for just about every chore around the house from catching scraps from dinnner or even peelings from vegetables for my compost pile, along with coffee grinds and the filters with it. There are so many uses.

dust holder

I empty the vacuum cleaner into a plastic bag. It stops the dust flying everywhere

re-use plastic bags

Take them to the local food banks. They use them to give food to their clients.

Momma Gena

I use plastic bags for lots of things. Keep them in my car for "rain gear", put litter in, use for plants, misc toys for my grandson, "glove" if I need to get into something yucky, in the church nursery for dirty diapers till end of service, pick up trash around church parking lot. I put scraps, peels etc, when I'm cooking for quick clean up. Make parachutes using string with a toy tied on end of string.
